Samsung Instinct Going To Bell mobility in Canada

It was only a matter of time before the Samsung Instinct was picked up by a Canadian Wireless Carrier and today MobileSyrup broke the news of the move across the border. It appears Canadian Wireless carrier Bell Mobility will soon begin offering the for $149.95 with a 3 year contract.

You don’t like commitment you say, you don’t even let your girlfriend sleep over let alone have a key to your apartment, no problem at all, Bell Mobility will gladly let you take one for $449.95 with no commitment whatsoever.

The big difference between the Sprint version and this one, no stupid yellow tinge, thank goodness!

HTC Touch Diamond Goes To Telus

HTC Touch Diamond CDMA for Telus Wireless Release

Telus is picking up the HTC Touch Diamond and turning it into a CDMA Device, better yet, the unit will feature EV-DO access for those looking to cruise the internet at high speed data rates.  The cost of the device is $149.99 Canadian, of course it will require the ever so infamous 3 year Telus contract.

Data plans for the unit will cost $15 for Email and Instant Messaging, and $30 for those services plus web browsing, which isn’t bad if you compare that to the Rogers Wireless iPhone 3G Plans.

The real question here in the United States is, where is Alltel, Sprint, and Verizon when it comes to this ultra hip Windows Mobile 6.1 device. It may not be an iPhone killer, but its pretty damn cool.

July 2nd, 2008 / No Comments » / by admin

Blackberry Curve 8350 with WiFi for Nextel 2008If the Blackberry Curve 8350 rumors are in fact true Nextel customers will soon be typing away on the first rugged looking Blackberry to hit the market from manufacturer Research in Motion.

The unit will support the iDEN Network, will offer push-to-talk features as far as I can tell, and will even support WiFi which Blackberry has finally begun to push for on a larger basis. The device will however not feature a full qwerty keyboard, instead relying on 20 key configuration with two letters per key.

Some rumors are putting the release date as early as the end of 2008, while other reports are showing a 2009 release date.

Virgin Mobile USA Buys Helio, Enters PostPaid Market

June 29th, 2008 / No Comments » / by admin

Virgin Mobile USA and Helio PicturesWith a $39 million dollar buyout offer accepted by SK Telecom Virgin Mobile this week instantaneously became the only “big player” in the MNVO market, a sector of the wireless telecom industry that has watched big players such as Amp’d Mobile, and critically lauded prepaid operators such as Disney Mobile exit the market after filing for bankruptcy this year and in Disney’s casing stunning investors by simply choosing to dissolve the company.

It doesn’t surprise me that Virgin Mobile USA made the move, especially given their aggressive moves in the market over the last 6-12 months, what does surprise me is that Virgin Mobile has not only acquired the companies 177,000 customers, but will continue to offer PostPaid plans.
