Motorola i776 Debuts From Odd Source…Target

August 25th, 2008 / No Comments » / by admin

It’s not to often that we can say the retail chain Target is responsible for a new phone leak, but that’s exactly the case when it comes to the Motorola i776, a new iDen based device for the Sprint Boost Mobile division.  The i776 according to FCC details will feature a 3.5-hour talk time, include GPS capabilities, and hold up to 600 contacts.

It doesn’t look like a bad phone, minus one issue we noticed immediately, the device has a stubby antenna poking out of the top, its retro that’s for sure, but an odd choice in for a cell phone market that looks at innovation over retro offerings.

Blackberry Bold For Sale. August 21st Via Rogers

August 19th, 2008 / No Comments » / by admin

Considering Research In Motion the makers of the Blackberry line of devices is located in Canada, it should come as no surprise that the device will launch there first. What may surprise some people is that the device is set to hit the Canadian market this August 21st, 2008.

The price tag is also looking semi-promising, with some rumors putting it at $300 while others price point the unit more in the $400 range according to RIM co_CEO Jim Balsillie. Either way its more than the eye phone so the device better really deliver.

But the excitement doesn’t end their more internet rumors are circulating that point to more carriers who will announce the Blackberry Bold for sale before the end of the week, although those tipsters wouldn’t disclose who those companies would be.

New Palm Pro Details Announced

August 17th, 2008 / 1 Comment » / by admin

The Palm Treo Pro will not only offer Windows Mobile 6.1 but also feature some nice upgrades.  According to Palm InfoCenter the unit will apparently take advantage of the HTC Task manager which we weren’t expecting. It will close offer easy Comm Manager access to Airplane Mode and other quick switch options. But our favorite part is the MicroSDHC card support that can add up to 32GB of additional memory to the unit via a microSDHC card. The unit will also feature a very hefty 1500Mah battery and some other features we’ll be sure to add as they become known.

BTW, want to see the Comm Manager, check out the picture above.

HTC Touch Arriving at US Cellular. 1 Year Late.

August 17th, 2008 / No Comments » / by admin

The folks over at Engadget shows off the new US Cellular device this week. There’s only one problem, its not really a new device. It appears the US Cellular team will begin selling a CDMA version of the HTC Touch a device that’s around 1 year old and has already been pawned off by Sprint Wireless and Alltel Wireless.

At least the units appear to be shipping in black color, rather than that disgusting Sprint Green. We can only hope US Cellular will play catch up now that AT&T is releasing the AT&T Fuze. Either way its still a great device that adds to the US Cellular repetoire of outdated units.

BTW, the picture above is just a mock up, we’ll have to wait and see how it looks in real life.

HTC Touch Pro Renamed “Fuze” For AT&T Users

August 17th, 2008 / 1 Comment » / by admin

Who wouldn’t want the HTC Touch Pro, sure the unlocked GSM version costs nearly $1000. But just look at the specs, a 528mhz processor, 512mb of ROM, 288mb RAM and of course Windows Mobile 6.1 plus tons of more options.

Well it appears AT&T wants everything but the name. The new AT&T Wireless version features all of the specs from the original minus the name, instead choosing the AT&T Fuse.

The AT&T Model will of course features WiFi, GPS, Edge/GPRS functionality, and much more.

What is yet known is the price, or for that matter the release date, although AT&T reps are saying the device will be released “Sooner rather than later” we can only hope sooner means this month, or at the latest september.

We also wouldn’t mind knowing the price of the device. The HTC Tytn II renamed the AT&T Tilt came in at a much lower price than the Tytn II, of course it required a new 2 year contract.

BTW, did you spot the AT&T Logo in the top right corner of the HTC Touch Pro on this page. Yeah we know we’re excited too.

Do we love the Q9h. Not really. But the upgrade definitely helps us tolerate it.
