Are you looking for your chance at a free Blackberry Bold, if you are you’re in luck, just hop on a plan and move to the Netherlands. KPN Wireless in the Netherlands is offering the Blackberry Bold for free with a new two year contract. To get the phone customers simply sign up for a monthly cost of €36.25 which comes out to about $54 USD.
But it doesn’t end there, if you want less cost per month you can pay €26.75 monthly and €99.95 for the phone, essentially you’ll pay $148 for the Bold with a two year contract at under $50 per month.
Given that MoviStar in Chile is charging over $500 for the phone we find this to be a steal.

Just a week ago there were rumors that Vodafone would start carrying the HTC Touch Pro this month, and many blogs found the idea laughable. Well we are happy to announce that as of yesterday the Touch Pro is now available, and with a price tag of £514.99 including tax its not a cheap unit.
Of course with Windows a Quad-Band GSM setup, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, a 524mhz processor and a very impressive 512MB ROM and 256MB of Ram it doesn’t seem to far off in its pricing.
The HTC Touch Pro will also feature a VGA screen that displays on a 2.8 inch configuration, along with WiFi 802.11 b/g and 3G Data access along with a built-in GPS with Assisted GPS (A-GPS) functionality.
The device will be hitting stateside in the next few days.

The Blackberry Javelin doesn’t offer the 3G capabilities of the Blackberry Bold, instead settling on Edge connectivity, but it does offer some other extreme options that get us excited. The Javelin will feature a very nice 512MHz core with 256MB of included onboard storage. The until will also offer a very nice VGA monitor that supports an output of 480 x 360 pixels on its LCD display that mimics the Blackberry Bold, while also offering WiFi and a 3.2 mega pixel camera.
What puzzles us is this. How can RIM which probably won’t release the device until next year justify a 2.5G device in 2009, especially when 4G technology will be at the forefront by that time.
Either way its a nice looking device.

Telus started rolling out the back to school specials this week by targeting Text messaging students and callers who choose to talk at night. The first plan which targets standard cell phone users costs $35 per month while a similar smartphone paln will run for $50. At those prices customers will only find themselves with 200 daytime minutes, but they will also receive unlimited nighttime and weekend minutes, along with unlimited text, talk, picture and video messaging. Throw in Fave 10 and unlimited browsing along with nights that begin at 6PM and its really not a bad deal at all.
Oh Yeah, did we mention they’ll also throw in a $50 GAP gift card if you purchase the $35 plan with an LG Keybo. Not a bad deal for a great phone and a decent plan by Canada standards

If your currently salivating over the above pictured Samsung T700 your not the only ones, and you’ll have to keep salivating until Q4 2008 when the unit is officially released.
What we can tell you is that the unit is a Quad-Band GSM device with a 3G data connection, which unfortunately only features the HSDPA 2100mhz frequency which operates outside of the United States. On the other hand the unit ships with Edge / GPRS funcations built in which means decent speeds but not great. The 3.15mp camera is also not a bad edition.

The Samsung Omnia is a great quad-band GSM device that deserves much of the praise it has received. From the impressive 5MP camera to the units new user interface it really is an impressive Pocket PC that works well with the underlying Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Interface.
Unfortunately there are still some hiccups that need to be worked out, including some screen resolution issues, the lack of a stylus spot, and some other little issues that we found.

I hate the color pink and the Blackberry Curve is not helping my opinion of the color. That’s the new color choice offered for the CDMA Curve version by Verizon Wireless. The Pink Curve will comes with a $99.99 pricetag after a two-year contract. Even at the lower price its still not for me.

While the release date is not yet official, Vodafone is claiming an August release for the HTC Touch Pro.
We’ll admit that we’re skeptical given the recent delay in the device that was set to ship already. What we do know is that a device with the capabilities of the HTC Touch Diamond and the added zest of a Qwerty keyboard is enough to keep us dreaming.
Of course if a Chile Telecom company can land the Blackberry Bold, we probably shouldn’t spend much time doubting the release date of the Touch Pro for Vodafone customers
