Sunday, August 17th 2008 --Its was a good second quarter for most wireless telecoms and Alltel Wireless wasn't about to be outdone. According to Alltel financial statements released last week the wireless company increased data earning by nearly 45 percent, that means of their $54.42 ARPU at the end of the quarter $8.18 of that came from that same period.

On the other hand the 5th place U.S. carrier lost approx. $69.9 million dollars due to increased interest cost and several debt holding and write-offs.

The company also announced that during the quarter they added nearly 320,000 new subscribers, a positive show for the company that's about to be gobbled up by fellow CDMA wireless provider Verizon Wireless.
