Alltel Wireless has announced that they will add new parental controls to their handsets in 2008. The move comes at a time when many providers are adding content filtering software to their devices, software which allows parents to monitor or completely control the sites their children visit. The best part of the new Content software from Alltel? The company has announced that it will be completely free.
{mosgoogle} The Alltel content blocker will become available in 2008 and will feature the software "based on Bytemobile's Unison ACCESS Mobile content filtering solution, Alltel Parental Controls utilizes a comprehensive database of websites that may be inappropriate for children, allowing parents to filter content on their child's phone. " According to the wireless company, "Alltel Parental Controls is available to Alltel customers, both pre- and post-paid, on select phones. Parents can set their filtering preferences from MyAccount on alltel.com or MyPrepaid on alltelu.com " |
