AT&T announced that the company will begin prorating early termination fees, a move that will allow users to cancel their plans while paying only a percentage of their contracts early termination fee.

{mosgoogle left}This newest move from AT&T comes about 6 months after Verizon Wireless began offering the same type of service to their mobile users. Under the plan customers will pay a prorated fee based on the amount of time that has passed on their plan. Assuming a $175 early termination fee the prorated amount on a 24 month contract should therefore me around $7.29 per month.

Along with their Early Termination prorations AT&T will also allow their customers to change plans without having to commit to a new 2 year contract. However, a new committment will still be required when a customer wishes to update their cellular device at a discounted price.
