Broadcom has not only won damages in their patent case against Qualcomm, they are also seeking an injunction that would prevent the chipmake from distributing procesors that were built using 3 patents that were held by Broadcom.

The Associated Press reported that the damages total $19.6 million dollars and have been agreed upon by both parties. It was also known that District Judge James V. Selna had told both parties that the amount would be doubled if the case was brought to the federal courts.
The panel that offered the multi million dollar award noted that Qualcomm had "willfully" violated 3 patents when they proceeded to use the technology in their chipsets.
It also appears that the judgement may have put investors at ease on both sides of the table as Qualcomm shares rose 7 cents to $40.53 in trading at end of business on Friday, while Broadcom's shares rose 69 cents, to $27.83.
