Bidding on the 700mhz spectrum has reached $8.7 billion dollars, with a large chunk of that bidding going towards the popular C block frequency, a block of spectrum that has reached 3.8 billion dollars in bids so far, and which includes the saught after open access spectrum.

While the C Block spectrum is the most saught after, other blocks were still receiving bids, minus the D block which began open bidding since the first round of FCC bids.

The $3.8 billion dollar bid for C Block access in Round 12 is impressive, but has yet to reach the reserver price of $4.6 billion dollars set by the FCC.

The D Block also once again failed to satisfy the spectrums $1.3 billion reserve price, remaining at the original $472 million bid originating in the first round.
