Last week we reported on the Google Android Marketplace, Google's answer to the iPhone App Store. Now we wanted to show off some of the Marketplaces screen shots. The first device to feature Google Android will ship with a version of the marketplace that will only feature Freeware applications, with the developer base growing from there. Either way its impressive yet simply. First users will find the Applications/Games/Search and My Downloads Section, this is the starting point of the application. You can see an example of the Google Android Marketplace home screen below:
Next Users will find a screen that shows the name of programs, the developer name, the cost of the item, whether or not the item is installed on your device, and the user ratings for the item displayed on a 5 star scale. Check out the example in the picture below:
Next Users can actually access user reviews before finalizing their purchase. After reading through reviews if you decide to continue you simply click the install button at the bottom of the reviews page. Check out the example below:
Finally before installing users will receive information about the program and what parts of your device it will access such as whether or not the device will access your GPS device, your Internet connection, your system tools, etc. If users agree they can hit okay at the bottom of the notifications to continue with the install. Check out a screenshot for the ZeDev Tools screen below:
That's just a quick look at the new Google Android Marketplace. Google has promised to continue the programs development and add new features to rival the iPhone App Store, and so far it looks promising, but we'll wait for the HTC Dream to come out and decide for ourselves at that time.
