Google has announced the release of their new Google Android SDK. The announcement comes only a week after the company had originally stated that several upgrades would be added to the current SDK version.

The new upgrades include a new user interface, which according to Google will continue to be upgraded in the future as they work to fine tune the application. The current released version is m5-rc14 and is still considered a work in progress.

The new upgrade also includes new layout animations which allows developers to create new layouts within the program. Also added is Geo-Caching capabilities, a popular feature lately that allows for translating coordinates into addresses and vice-versa.

The upgrade also includes new Media codecs and an update to the Eclipse plug-in, a feature that will make programming in the SDK environment much more user friendly.
