If you were one of the lucky T-Mobile customers to receive your T-Mobile G1 Google Android based device this week you probably stared at awe, not just at the amazing OS and the neat design, but also at the fact that an on-screen virtual keyboard was missing from the unit, a feature found on almost every other available Pocket PC device on the market.

Now comes word that Google is "working" on a virtual keyboard, but that it may take until March 2009 to be released.

We just hope a smart 3rd party developer jumps on the ball a little faster than the folks at Google and develops one of their own. After all Google Android isn't open source for no reason.
