Helio today announced a move that again puts the MVNO at the head of the pack. The announcement of theOpera Mini browser available for the Helio Ocean makes the company the first wirless provider to carry the free browser software preloaded on their Ocean handset

Helio has also announced that they will continue to offer the Opera browser on future Helio handsets. The move to Opera Mini makes Helio the first operator in the U.S. to offer the Opera mobile browser available for download directly to one of its devices from its deck.

The Opera Mini browser has also been optimized for the Ocean thanks in large part to Helio and Opera working in tandem  to build a version of Opera Mini that has been optimized for the Ocean cell phone.

At this time Helio has yet to announce future handsets that will carry the Opera Mini Brower, instead stating that the Opera Mini browser will be available for free on the units they choose to carry it on.
