3G iPhone Version Announced By Apple

Wednesday, June 11th 2008 -- On Monday at the Apple Worldwide Developer's conference Steve Jobs announced the release of the new iPhone version, a device that will not only support more business type applications, but will also feature 3G Capabilities.

 

The new iPhone will not only feature the ultra fast AT&T 3G Network but will also feature thinner edge and a black plastic cover. The 3G iPhone will also feature a 3.5mm headset jack for easy listening to your favorite tunes, and will offer solid metal buttons.

 

The screen on the new 3G unit will feature the same 3.5 inch display from teh original iPhone version, while talk time will improve to 5 hours and standby time will increase to 300 hours. Browsing times have also been increased up to 6 hours, while users can expect up to 7 hours of video playback and an impressive 24 hours of audio playback.

 

The new iPhone 3G unit will also feature a built in GPS offering and come with two available hard drive options, the 8GB unit for $200 and the 16GB model for $300, singaling better pricing for a more powerful unit.

 

The iPhone 3G will support the following tri-band frequencies on the 3G network (850/1900/2100MHZ) and will be available according to Apple on July 11th.
