Cellular service starting at $10 a month may seem far fetched, but long time Verizon Wireless reseller Freedom Wireless doesn't think so, and they have the backing of parent company TMT Financial to prove it. A plan that will include selling devices outside of their familiar CDMA network.
{mosgoogle} While finalized plans have not been revealed in regards to the new MVNO offering by Freedom Wireless, one thing is apparent, their starting plans of $10 a month appears to be raising a few eyebrows. While the longtime reseller of Verizon Wireless products has not mentioned which service it will use to provide its new coverage, one thing is certain, it will be a GSM network, and the phone will work in conjunction with WiFi services, whether or not those services will include the ability to purchase Hot Spot packages is unknown at this point. It will be interesting to see how Freedom handles their data plans and messaging offerings in an industry that has recently seen two of its largest companies close their doors for good, i'm of course speaking of Amp'd Mobile and Disney Mobile, even after the former was highly praised by Critics and parents alike. The company has not given a release date for their finalized product, however they have announced that the company will use a branded SIM Card, and they have hinted at branded devices, however that is yet unconfirmed, with GSM offerings it is possible they may rely on unlocked GSM devices, or devices locked to the carrier network they choose to implement. |
