Wednesday, March 26, 2008 -- A new technology from Taproots Systems now allows users of 3G devices the opportunity to turn any 3G equipped area into a WiFi Hotspot

The software was developed to allow users the ability to connect a laptop or other WiFi based hardware setups to the internet. The software which TapRoot has named WalkingHotSpot works on Symbian 60 based devices and Windows Mobile smartphones.
The technololgy is not only limited to 3G, but will in fact work with HSDPA and EV-DO high speed mobile networks. HSDPA users however do have the advantage of still receiving phone calls while connected to the WiFi hotspot.
TapRoot plans to release the beta of the software as a free demonstration for consumers in the near future. After beta testing is complete
TapRoot has stated their intentions to sell the software directly to carriers, with no commercial user version planned at this time.
