Helsinki, Finland - The Nokia Corporation issues a product advisory today on 46 Million batteries. The Nokia batteries known as BL-5C are being recalled after the discovery that the batteries can overheat.

No serious injuries have resulted from the incident, and no property has been damaged according to Nokia representatives. Nokia goes on to note that the batteries have all overheated while charging and not from normal cell phone usage. Nokia said that they will not recall the 46 million batteries, however they will offer concerned users a free battery. The battery is one of only 14 different types of Lithium Ion battery sold by the manufacturer. Nokia Corp. reported sales of over 100 million handsets last year alone.
