Wednesday July 2nd, 2008 -- OpenMoko today announced plans to sell the OpenMoko Neo FreeRunner, a tri-band device that features the companies GNU/Lunux Open Source platform. The device will ship in two configurations and will go on sale starting July 7th, 2008. Continue Reading for more details on this ultra hip device.

The two tri-band GSM configurations on the FreeRunner will consist of an 850/1800/1900mhz offering and a 900/1800/1900 offering for other regions. AT&T Customers will need to use the 850mhz offering while T-Mobile and other GSM providers are free to use either device.
The OpenMoko FreeRunner will also feature 802.11 b.g Certified WiFi services, and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP stereo bluetooth support. The unit also comes equipped with an impressive 2.8 inch screen with VGA output and a touchscreen offering. For navigation enthusiasts the unit also features Assisted GPS (A-GPS).
OpenMoko will also make future firmware upgrades available as the device ships with just the core linux package.
The Neo FreeRunner will cost $399.
