Thursday, July 24th 2008 -- It didn't take long for Qualcomm and Nokia to head out of a Delaware court this week, in fact it only took 1 day for the two companies to come to terms with the situation and form a new 15 year cross licensing agreement.

Under their new terms the two companies will cross-license in areas such as GSM, EDGE, CDMA, WCDMA, HSDPA, OFDM, WiMax, and LTE technologies, among other patent held areas.

Under the agreement Nokia will be permitted to use several Qualcomm patents in their chipsets and network infrastructure equipments, while Qualcomm will be permitted to use several Nokia patents in their own chipsets.

The shortlives lawshit also gave Qualcomm the right to call several WCDMA, GSM, and OFDMA patents their own.

While a payment will be made by Nokia that exact amount is unknown, also unknown is the state of future payments that will be made betwee the two organizations.
