Samsung has moved beyond the 5 megapixel Camera for their cell phones, instead focusing on a new CMOS chipset that features an 8 mega pixel output for camera phones.
{mosgoogle} The chip comes in with a measurement of 28mm x 15.3mm x 8.5mm and has the option of an ISO 1600 setup for low-light picture taking circumstances. The new chipset also features some nice add-ons, specifically an anti-shake function along with face tracking, and an enhanced macro mode that can focus on objects as close as 1cm away. The new units will ship from Samsung by the second half of this year, and will be focused on high end camera phones. |
