The hype machine for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is still in full force, and now the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional device is receiving added support for that hype.  Sony Ericsson announced yesterday that their Software Developers Kit, also known as an SDK is now available for the Xperia X1 Pocket PC.  According to Sony Ericsson developers will be able to develop their own panels, build web-based applications, and create add-ons for the device by implementing the SDK standards.  For anyone unfamiliar with the "panels" option, they are basically small panels that can be placed on the Windows Mobile 6.1 home screen, thus allowing quick launch access to programs chosen by the developer or the end user. Sony Ericsson hopes the open nature of the SDK will allow developers to create plenty of applications for the Xperia X1 before the final release date is implemented. No concrete release date or pricing has been determined at this time. Â
