Tuesday, June 17th 2008 -- If you have been taken in by the Nintento Wii craze and the abilities of Motion Gaming you will probably love the newest offering from Sony, the Sony Ericsson F305 is a Gaming phone that offers full on mobile phone capabilities with the addition of Motion sensor gaming.
While full details have yet to be released in regards to the Sony Ericsson F305 here is what we do know: The F305 will feature what Sony Ericsson calls "Motion Gaming" think of it like a Wii application for a cell phone, with the flick of a write or the twist of the phone users can control the every movement of their games. The application works on an advanced Accelerometer that has been developed specifically for the Sony Ericsson F305.
On the phone side of things the unit will run a Quad-Band GSM connection (850/900/1800/1900mhz) and will feature Edge capabilities, but will not feature the much faster 3.5G internet connection which was a little bit of a letdown. The F305 will however feature bluetooth connectivity and an FM Radio receiver which can be used alongside a stereo wired headset.
We also know that the unit will feature Stereo Speakers which should enhance the gaming experience, along with a Memory Stick Micro slot for expandable memory. The Sony Ericsson F305 will also feature a 2.0 Mega Pixel Camera, and will come in at a respectable size of 96 x47 x14.6 mm and will weight 97.5 grams.
The unit will also feature some preloaded games including Bowling, bass fishing and jockey. Users will also be able to download up to 50 more games at PlayNow.
Sony expects gamers to get up to 8 hours of continuous gameplay, not a bad haul for a gaming/phone device.
No pricing has been released, the unit is expected by the end of 2008.
