Sprint Wireless Hires Daniel R Hesse as CEO

Sprint Wireless ended two months of searching and speculation today when they announced the hiring of their new Chief Executive Officer Daniel R. Hesse. A move that brings a veteran wireless manager to the Sprint family.

Daniel Hess served for 27 years at AT&T including the role of C.E.O between 1997 and 2000, at which time he was cited for creating revenues that grew at three times the rate of their competitors. Hess has most recently serves as the C.E.O. of Embarq.

Sprint Wireless sited Mr Hess' marketing ability and acute vision for innovation as the main motivating factors for his hiring. Along with his C.E.O. role, Hess has joined the Sprint Nextel Board of Directors.
