Sprint Nextel will begin the launch of their new network, by focusing on recently tested data cards, before eventually offering several Wimax enabled handset units by the end of 2008.

The rollout will begin in Chicago, Washington DC, and Baltimore. Each of those cities will be used to "soft launch" the program which is expected to go fully live by the second quarter of 2008.

Sprint has recently dissolved their partnership with Clearwire, leading the company to abandon a national release of their new technology, leaving them to focus on large cities throughout the United States.
