Wimax Handsets Confirmed by Sprint CEO

In a move that solidifies Sprint's plans to continue their WiMax inititiave, CEO Dan Hesse announced the new lineup of CDMA/WiMax phones that will be released over the rest of 2008.

In a Sprint Wireless press release CEO Dan Hesse announced the successful tests that have been ongoing in the Chicago, Baltimore and Washington D.C. areas. He went on to announce that the handset which will feature the CDMA/WiMax network will roll out in time to make the company the first to offer the 4G network.

Sprint and Clearwire are also still in negotiations to release their partnered nationwide WiMax network which is currently rolling out only in major metropolitan areas.
