Thursday, June 26th 2008 -- T-Mobile has finally released details on the Motorola ROKR E8 they will begin carrying on July 7th, 2008. The device features a very nice glossy finish on a candy bar style device. The mid-range device will also feature some nice hardware specs for someone looking for a moderately priced phone, but not necessarily a pocket pc or smartphone type device.
The ROKR E8 bare a sligh resemblance to the Motorola SLVR L9 / L7 model, but with a much more sleek and stylish design, not to mention the ROKR E8 will feature a 2 megapixel camera with 2GB of Internal Storage, the unit will however be upgradeable to a 10GB storage capacity thanks to the units use of a MicroSDHC expandable memory card slot. The unit will also feature Bluetooth with A2DP Stereo Bluetooth streaming capabilities along with a 3.5mm headphone jack for easy access to your favorite headset. Trumpeting its use of audio features the unit also supports FM Radio.
The coolest feature on the unit is the "morphing" keypad which essentially only shows you the devices keys when you have the cell phone set in certain modes.
The unit will not feature 3G internet access, but honestly what phones do carry the 1700mhz AWS needed for T-Mobile, not very many yet. The unit will also cost $199.00 on contract with T-Mobile.
