Verizon Wireless doesn't extend the length of their contracts if a customer changes their phone plans, and they want Alltel Wireless to realize it. After several ads ran in which Alltel claimed to be the only cellular provider to offer such services, Verizon has filed papers to sue the CDMA carrier on the grounds of False advertising.

Verizon claims in the court filings that Alltel acknowledge the wrongdoing, however they failed to act in a reasonable time frame in terms of correcting or removing the ads. Instead Verizon Wireless claims that the organization continued to run the false information for one month before removing it from circulation.

Verizon announced in October that they would no longer extend customer contracts when changes were made to a customers calling plan.

Damages in the case have yet to be specified
