Verizon Wireless announced plans today to team with Teen Music portal MTV and European Wireless provider Vodafone to create a new multimedia music experience for their users. Featuring popular software by Rhapsody and MTV's Urge Music platform is allowing for what appears to be a promising offering for Verizons wildly popular VCast service.

The plan will seemlessly integrate the users Mobile Device, PC and Portable Music devices into a cohesive unit functioning with the help of Rhapsody's RealNetworks and Urge Music service. Combined with V-Cast (currently the most successful Music interface in Mobility services), the service will offer a new level of multimedia use for mobile devices.

While the Rhapsody software will be fully integrated into Vcast.

According to Judy McGrath, Chariman and CEO of MTV Networks, "With RealNetworks and Verizon Wireless, we’re creating a unique and engaging experience that also reflects our own strategy of allowing fans to go narrow and deep into the musical genres they love,"
