Virgin Mobile has implemented a new over the air programming option, a move that will make the process of activating a new phone easier for customers, and should help the company reduce operating costs.

The new over the air programming option allows customers to activate their phone without the assistance of a human operator. The program utilizes the Telespree Over-The-Air automated handset programming  process, and can be used in conjunction with new line activations, and upgrades to current customer accounts.
